RYAN BURAPHACHEEP
Ryan Buraphacheep is an independent film director, assistant manager, and picture editor located in Toronto, having previously lived in Bangkok, Thailand.

Currently in his fourth year of the BFA Film Production program, Buraphacheep is developing several film projects. These include Pilgrimage Road (2023), a 30-minute hybrid fiction-alternative short film that premiered at the 27th Thai Short Film and Video Festival in Bangkok, and Martlets (2025), a 15-minute fiction short.

His primary interests in filmmaking revolve around themes of migration, political conflict, violence, and their impact on human experiences, collective trauma, and international political history, particularly in Southeast Asia. His current project, After the Storm (2026), is a short documentary that poetically explores the events surrounding the 6 October 1976 massacre.
In addition to directing, he also works as a First Assistant Director and Picture Editor on various student short films.
